Sub-brands

Although we are one university family, there are cases where an area requires a separate sub-brand to better reflect their operations externally. While these sub-brands may have elements not directly consistent to the UCalgary brand, they must also not detract or oppose the fundamental brand either.

Dinos and UC interlock

The Dinos are the athletics teams that represent UCalgary. They symbolise the power, performance and fierce spirit of our university. Dinos Athletics exists as a competitive and academic enterprise within our family.

Included in that family is an 'interlocking monogram' – a spirit mark used for merchandise, uniforms, and informal, student-led activities.

Olympic Oval

The Olympic Oval is an indoor speed skating oval located within the Faculty of Kinesiology at the ��ˮ��Ƶ of Calgary. Built for the 1988 Winter Olympics, it is the official designated training centre for Speed Skate Canada and the Canadian National Speed Skating team. The identity leverages the university and faculty ties, while maintaining distinction as an international, competitive ice training venue.

Outdoor Centre

The Outdoor Centre, part of the Faculty of Kinesiology��Ի��Active Living, has been renting gear and teaching outdoor skills for over 40 years. Our goal is to make outdoor activities affordable and accessible by providing the skills and equipment needed, and by creating a friendly and safe learning environment. You don't have to be a student. Our rentals, programs and trips are open to everyone on and off campus.
